Tips and Techniques for getting the most from your EGG
Baking Stone Setup

To set up your Big Green Egg for use with the baking stone, remove any grates, insert your plate setter with legs down. Then use your Egg's ceramic feet for little stands and put your baking stone on top of them as shown in picture. This allows airflow under the baking stone which helps to prevent your crust from burning. Remember to get fire started, then set up this rig, then close egg and get up to 600 or more (Fred's Recommendation) and let it preheat everything for 20 minutes or more. Then stick in your "raw" pizza (best to use parchment paper slide the whole thing on the stone, paper and all) and it's cooked to perfection in minutes.
This setup also raises the stone above the rim of the Egg and helps prevent "gauging" by your pizza peel when loading and unloading pizzas on your baking stone!
Note also the clearance around the edge of the proper baking stone with the recommended Egg size. In this case a 14 " Large Baking stone on the appropriate Large Egg. Leave enough clearance so that hot gasses don't fry that gasket!
Have fun baking in your Big Green Egg.
