Totally Bitchin Shrimp Appetisers . (submitted by Fred Himself)
1.
Get some shrimp. I get the biggest that are reasonable cost. Lately
that has been Frozen from Thailand ... oh...and be sure to get "easy
peel" unless you really like peeling and deveining shrimp. The "easy
peel" have the shells split and vein is removed so you just thaw and
peel and they peel real easy peasey. 2. put thawed, peeled shrimp in plastic bag with some EVOO - stash until guests are arriving . 3.
Get Egg to around 350 to 450 - Cast iron grate / direct set up (cast
iron grate has the rails close together so shrimp won't fall through. 4. put shrimp on the grate and sprinkle liberally with Old Bay Seasoning. 5.
Get a stick of butter melting in a pan on the side burner of your now
semi-useless (since you got your Egg) gas grill and melt the butter. 6.
when shrimp are done, getting lightly browned on the cooked side, grab
each one with tongs, dip in melted butter and put back on grill with
the raw side down to cook some more - when all are on there sprinle a
LITTLE bit more Old Bay on them, close the lid of the egg. 7. Give them a minute or 2 and they should be done, remove and serve immediately with toothpicks as finger food style. 8. Your guests will rave , guaranteed.
