Fred's X Mother-In_Law, AJ Lessig used to make these fabulous cookies at
Christmastime. The tradition was passed to her daughter, Polly (x-wife of Fred B.) and now to
Fred's daughter, Cori who makes them every year.
 
Here's the recipe...these things are addictive.
 
PECAN SQUARES.
 
 
Batter:
Mix together in mixer
2 cups flour
1 cup butter at room temp.
1 cup brown sugar
1 well-beaten egg
 
take dough and spread it on a cookie sheet w/ raised edges aprox 1/4 of an inch thick
 
 
Topping:
 
Brush 1 egg on top of batter
Sprinkle 1/2 cup of brown sugar on top
Sprinkle 2 cups of chopped pecans on top of that
then sprinkle another 1/2 cup of brown sugar on top of that
 
BAKE at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes , let cool, cut into 1 1/2 inch squares and enjoy!
